Episode 8: Transporting Makes Home Birth Safe

When a birthing person and family choose a home birth, it is often difficult to imagine needing to transport to the hospital to give birth. The reality of home birth is that there are certain situations when a transport is the safest and best option for mom and baby. The majority of hospital transports are non-emergent and probably look a lot different than what you might expect. In this episode we talk through the typical process of a transport, reasons why we transport, and the wonderful birth providers in our community. Ultimately, transporting is what makes home birth safe.
